Austin Kids Can!

Mission: Our mission is to close the achievement gap for economically disadvantaged children in Austin, Texas. We believe quality education is the key to escaping poverty. To close the gap, we are providing no-cost, engaging academic afterschool programs to children in need.

Challenge: The client was launching a new nonprofit from the ground up and needed comprehensive support across multiple areas. This included board training, curriculum development, becoming an approved vendor, securing grant funding, hiring staff, tracking outcomes, team training, and managing a digital presence including social media.

Engagement: We provided strategic and hands-on support in all the areas mentioned above, guiding the organization through every phase of growth, from concept to successful implementation.

Results: Over the course of a five-year partnership, we helped develop a robust virtual and in-person curriculum serving grades 2–5 across a full academic year. The program expanded to six Austin ISD schools. We also supported the hiring, training, and management of a team of eight staff members, and helped the organization secure significant funding through both grants and school contracts across the district.

Favorite Part of Working with This Client: We loved bringing our deep expertise in education to help build and sustain a much-needed afterschool program for underserved elementary students, making a real impact in the community.
